A go-to outfit when it's too cold to think? Head to toe black. Period. I'm not with this below 30-degree weather. Who does mother nature think she is? I feel like I'm being forced into hibernation and we all know that that is not an option. I am at a point where getting dressed in the morning is a mission, though. The minute I look at the weather my mind goes blank. How can I stay warm and still look cute? For fall, it's easy - just layer up, right? The same goes for winter in a way but the number of layers I actually need under my coat to keep me warm makes me look more like a sumo wrestler than, well, me.
Enter this fabulous (and very warm) faux fur jacket. I know how lazy I can get in the winter which is why I need interesting black pieces hanging in my closet for days when I blank out. All black can get a little boring sometimes - especially around this time of year when I personally wear it all the time. Nothing wrong with that! This is why, when buying black, I try to focus on texture, pattern, and style. I love how the jacket gave my outfit dimension and a sort of richness to the entire look. It took me 2 minutes to put this together and it looks so good! This is a reminder (even to myself) that it is possible to feel warm and look chic even during the coldest months. If you love this coat, it's still available and on sale. It comes with a black fur belt that I removed. I felt like it cheapened the jacket and took away from the semi oversized fit which is what I love most about the jacket. In case you're wondering, I got mine in a size small.
