Floral Shift Dress

I must have flowers, always, always. - Monet -

Spring, is that finally you?  Seriously, though.  I can't tell.  You're up and you're down and in between.  I was just wearing this dress less than a week ago.  Now it's 49 degrees and pouring rain.  Yeah, I know, "April showers brings May flowers", but nowhere in there does it say it has to be freezing.  Anyone else feel my pain?

Lucky for me, I had great weather over spring break so I wanted to spend as much time as possible outside.  I was really excited for this day in particular because I was shooting with blogger, photographer, and artist, Milli Stephania a.k.a. Minx.  We really wanted to take advantage of the day and do something we both have not done in awhile so we decided to go to The Botanical Gardens.  Gardens and floral dresses have Spring written all over it.  Count me in!

I love this time of year because the cherry blossoms are blooming and they are the perfect backdrop for a floral dress!  You might remember seeing it on my Instagram - I wore it to my best friends wedding with taupe peep-toe mules back in February.  I was excited that I was able to wear it again sooner than later.  This time around, I paired it with my new sandals from Zara - how awesome is that heel?

What I love most about this dress is its versatility.  You can dress it up with heels like I did here or dress it down with flat sandals.  The length is good to wear with either or.  The sleeves make it perfect for transitional weather and the openings give the classic shift dress a nice twist.

So far I've worn this dress to a wedding and for a day at the botanical gardens.  Next, I plan on wearing it to work.  Love a dress that can work into every aspect of your life!  Not bad for something that only cost me $40!  This one has since sold out but check out these other equally great options below!
