My Top Favorites of The Met Gala 2016

The Met Gala, also known as the "Oscars of Fashion", was last night and boy did it not disappoint.  Although there were a few guest who's looked like they missed the memo, the ones who got it, really got it.  This years Met Gala 2016 theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology; handmade vs. machine made and where the two meet.  The Met Gala is meant to be dramatic, theatrical and fun so I was happy to see that there were some that actually stuck to the theme.

Kendall Jenner looked simply beautiful in this cutout Versace gown.  Cutouts continue to reign on the red carpet and I love that she pulled her hair back to keep the focus on the design of the dress.  Another big trend on the Met Gala red carpet was metal, and the combination of metal and cream on Emma Stone was FIERCE.  The silver corset embellished with floral accents really made this Prada gown stand out from the rest; and I'm dying over her new hair!  Lupita Nyong'o never falls short on the red carpet.  She is known to work color like no other and in this Calvin Klein Collection dress she wins yet again.  Lastly, Karolina Kurkova really stuck to the theme of the night in Marchesa.  The gown was a classic Marchesa design but with a twist; 150 LED-connected flowers.  See above: human and machine.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  The dress turned differently colors as the night went on, which is why in photos it appeared to be different colors.  How cool!
