Statement Jacket + Grey Ribbed Turtleneck

Happy Thursday! Sorry about my lack in post this week but my mom is in town and she is top priority.  I just love her so much.  I wish she could stay here forever!!  #mommasgirl  I had a great extended weekend.  I have to say, I do have the best job.  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: OFF.  Five day weekend, three day week - still not over how lucky I am.  And my mom is here till Sunday?  Super lucky.

Only Striped Lightweight Jacket | H&M Ribbed Mock Turtleneck (old; similar here, here, and here) | Loft Modern Skinny Jeans | Zara Tote with Front Pocket (sold out; similar here) | Forever 21 Classic Canvas Sneakers

Every year I tell myself that I'm going to invest in more coats but of course I never do.  Mainly because outerwear can be so freakin' expensive.  But when you literally live in jackets/coats for the majority of the year, you need some sort of variety.  So when I saw that Asos was having a major sale on outerwear, I jumped on it quick.  The original price on this super cute statement jacket was $77.39 and guess how much I paid for it?  $27!  Crazy, right?

When I got it in the mail, it exceeded all of my expectations.  Statement jackets are a great way to spice up a basic outfit, especially if you plan on spending time outside and want to show off your style.  This white jacket with its blue and red stripes is a total mood booster.  I know I'll be reaching for it time and time again when I need a break from my go-to black.  I wore a turtleneck to peek through the jacket and some comfy sneakers for a cute and casual day at work.  Speaking of work, this tote bag is perfect for all the stuff I "need" to bring with me( ie. notebook, blog planner, and a magazine.) because as I always say "you never know".  :)

Anyway, I'm sure you get it by now but it doesn't hurt to rub it in a little more.  Outerwear is a huge part of your fall/winter wardrobe.  It can make or break your outfit.  So if you take away at least one piece of advice from me, let it be this one: invest in your outerwear. The one I'm wearing here is still on sale if you're interested in snatching it up for yourself!
