It's been exactly one week and one day since I've done a blog post. I'm sorry, I was too busy getting spoiled! Anyway, I'm not going to tell you about the amazing time I had because when I tell stories they tend to drag and I'll probably lose your attention span in 2.5 seconds. (run on sentence - deal with it. :) Instead, I'm going to tell you about my day in Brooklyn. If you ever take a trip, please don't forget to make a stop at each and every one of these places. If you don't already know, I am Brooklyn obsessed. Ever since my cousin Mario took me to see the brownstones there I've been in love - and there is absolutely nothing I love more then being a tourist in my own city. That being said, let us begin......
They weren't lying when they named this place Best Pizza. If you don't believe me just read the reviews. Thin crust, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of cheese and sauce - add a few of my favorite condiments and its perfection. I had the Margherita pie with a beer - and I am not a big beer drinker, but I did enjoy it with the pizza. Yum!
Have you guys heard of Airbnb? You can read some more about it here if you have no idea what I am talking about. Mike surprised me with a one night stay at this beautiful brownstone apartment - a dream of mine is to own one - and I swear it was just like home. The owner, Micah, was amazing and I am so thankful she gave us the opportunity to stay here. The style and decor of her place is so me - seriously, it was like a dream!
The Black Swan was recommended to us by Micah so we made a stop for a quick drink to try it out. It was a very chill bar with a great happy hour special. They keep the lights dim which adds to the cool ambience. The drink I had was the Barbed Rose - it was sweet and sour and just the right amount of liquor to balance it off. I would definitely get it again.
We stumbled upon this gem of a donut place simply named Dough. WOW. I should leave it at that, that way you guys have no choice but to RUN and try it out yourselves - but I just can't. Softest, freshest, tastiest donut I've ever had in my life. I had the cinnamon sugar donut and the next time I want to try the passion fruit (and the time after that the...) But do prepare to wait - their donuts sell out pretty fast.
I couldn't be in the area and not visit my friends over at Myrtle Drug Care Corp. This is the only pharmacy in Brooklyn you should be going to. They have the best customer service and really care about their clients. I'm not just saying it because the pharmacist is one of my best friends - I'm saying it because her and her staff truly are amazing and I love them oh so very much.
Lastly, the train is only a couple blocks away from where we were staying and was a quick 25 min trip to the city where I saw this AWESOME musical. You'll love the genie!
Anyone have any suggestions on places to visit in Brooklyn? I need to know for the next time I return! Leave them in the comments below!
