Daylights savings is asking me to "spring forward" but if that was what mother nature really wanted she would have let me keep my extra hour of sleep. I guess today's weather helped some. It was a beautiful forty something degrees out today, which meant that half of NYC threw on their sandals in desperation to speed up the warm weather. After what felt like below zero temps anything feels like summer to us now.
This definitely was one of those bitter cold days. My amazing photographer, Anabella, made it worthwhile, though! She really helped push me through the moments when I wanted to run for shelter. I wonder how those models do it? Standing on rooftops in freezing cold weather to model the latest swim wear in time for the summer. I have so much respect for you ladies. I could barely do it in a sweater, leggings, jeans, and boots. But I did, and it was worth it!
This cozy zig zag cardigan came in my Daily Look Elite Box. If you have never heard of this site, you are missing out! Daily Look is a website where you create a style profile and have a personal stylist select clothing items based on your preferences. You get 6-8 items sent to your home every month and from those items you choose the ones you want to keep. The rest you just send back in a prepaid delivery bag provided for you. How cool is that?
I've so far received two boxes and have bought at least one item from each box. My stylist, Julie, is so on point! Just to prove it to you, in the letter she wrote me this month she specifically stated that she thinks I would like the Zig Zag Cardigan and the Ribbed Turtle Neck Dress the best. Honestly, I didn't even read the letter until after I decided on the items that I wanted to keep. I slipped all the unwanted items in the bag, sealed it, and then read her letter. She was right! I did choose those items. And that goes to show how much she pays attention.
I've worn this sweater at least six times since I've gotten it. No lie. To work, to dinner, a day in the city - just to name a few. And I don't care if you think I'm a "repeat-outfit-offender". I'll keep wearing it until the weather permits! I loooooove oversized sweaters and the pattern on this one is unlike anything I already own. It looks like a pull-over sweater but it is actually a cardigan. It has round little snap buttons hidden inside that give the illusion of a pullover. I thought that was pretty cool since it gives you more styling options. You can wear it closed or you can wear it open with a bright solid top underneath and have a totally different look. The material is extremely soft and not itchy at all! (Don't you just hate that?) The trick to pulling off anything oversized is to keep everything else as stream-lined as possible. Since my statement piece was my cardigan, I chose to pair it along with my favorite dark wash skinny jeans and my OTK (over-the-knee) boots.
I think you should head on over to Daily Look like now! They are offering a free three month trail period. When I signed up for it, it was just one free month. Go take advantage of this awesome offer. If you choose not to join, you can always just shop the items that you love. No one is forcing you to become a member which is great! Although, I really think you would be missing out. I mean, who doesn't like the word free. :)
Let me know what you think of my outfit and always thank you for reading!
