Three Non-boring Black Outfits

Tis' the season to get really lazy with our outfits because, well, it's cold!  I'm sure we all wake up in the morning with the same excuses: "it's too cold!" or my favorite "I just want to be comfortable" but our wardrobes shouldn't suffer because of the changing seasons.  My usual "really lazy outfit" is to throw on all black. Honestly, in the winter this happens more often then not so its important to be creative when you are going for an all black look.  That is why I have decided to put together three non-boring black outfits that will make any ensemble look anything but basic.

Sometimes your best bet is just to keep it simple.  Simple does not mean it has to be boring and an off-the-shoulder sweater and leather pants are anything but.  Add studded ankle boots and a suede bag and you're good to go.  I would wear something like this for a last minute night out with the girls!

When wearing all black, its important to be creative with layering and textures.  Start with a long sleeve basic tee as your canvas.  The thinner the layers the better.  It gives you more room to play!  By adding a pair of faded ripped jeans, you're already giving interest to your outfit.  Now for some texture!  Throwing on a fur vest is the best way to go.  It adds dimension and gives that basic tee some extra pizazz.   Accessories are also a fun way to make an outfit more interesting.  These suede booties with a lace-up detail and a studded bucket bag do just that.  Also, don't be afraid to mix in different shades of black. (Pitch black, faded black, etc.)

Now who doesn't love to go all out glam?  Putting this outfit together automatically made me think of New Year's Eve (around the corner, btw).  It has all the glitz and glamour any girl would want without the headache!  Strapless black beaded dress and fringe?  Yes, girl!  With all of that embellishment on the dress, you don't have to do much else - the dress is doing it for you!  Finish it off with clean accessories such as these velvet pumps and simple clutch.  If you feel like more, put on some bling-y earrings.  You can even cheat a little in the form of a lip!

I hope you feel inspired!  See you tomorrow for an all new "What I'm Loving".  Here is the link for last week, just in case you missed it. :)
