This Weeks Links

Hi, guys!  I'm back with This Weeks Links.  I switched it up on you again - trying to keep you on your toes!  Haha, just kidding.

  • I have to make an effort and do more of these things
  • This shoulder bag is almost identical to a clutch that I have (you'll be seeing it soon on here).  It can easily turn into one by tucking the strap in.
  • I love these white sandals.  I just might get them!
  • There's such thing as "dry drowning" and you should be mindful of it.
  • This is a very important story to read in regards to postpartum.  I don't have any kids yet but this is something I feel strongly about.  I don't think people take seriously the things that can happen to women during and after pregnancy.
  • These salads are a much better option than the hot dogs and burgers that will be on constant rotation this summer.
  • And for the days when you need to relieve that sweet tooth - specifically when you're craving cookie dough - here are some healthier (egg-less) options.
  • Nordstrom anniversary sale is ON!  Right now its early access but its open to the public next week Friday!
  • Zara, Mango, and Massimo Dutti are also having some awesome semi-annual sales. I already bought a bunch of stuff that I can't wait to share!

Happy Wednesday!

I'm Back

So...it's been awhile, huh?  It has been an overwhelming month for me but in a good way.  Unfortunately, I needed to step away from the blog and focus on other things that needed my complete attention.  Between graduations, weddings, and everything else in between I really just wanted to focus on enjoying everything in the moment.  I'm excited to start things back up again.  I had a great last few weeks and I feel like I have so much to say but don't even know where to start.

Punta Cana, Dominicna Republic

Punta Cana, Dominicna Republic

I wanted to start the week off right - with the norm - but I promised a few people via Insta that I would share what I wore while on vacation and they've waited for me long enough.  Sorry, guys!  I actually mentioned a few of the things that I would bring with me to DR a few weeks back.  I didn't take any official blog pictures while I was there because I was only away for three days and I really wanted to enjoy it in the moment.  I will take more photos in details of each outfit but for the time being I'll share what I do have on the blog today.

The bride and groom held an all white beach party and this is what I wore.  I waited to the last minute to find an all white dress and all the ones I ordered just didn't look right.  I ended up trying Rent The Runway for the first time and settled for this Elizabeth and James LWD with a zipper detail.  More on my experience with Rent The Runway in another post!

This Slate and Willow Teal Sweetheart dress were another dress from Rent The Runway which I LOVED.  I figured since I was getting one dress from there, I should give another one a try.  My only complaint was that the straps were way too long and they were not adjustable.  I ended up having to do a quick fix at the last minute and spent the whole night fussing with the straps.  But It did look beautiful and I got lots of compliments!

This bathing suit is what got everyone's attention!  Guys, its from AMERICAN EAGLE!  I know, who would have thought?  But they have some really, really cute suits, especially one-pieces.  To say that I am obsessed is an understatement.  I can't wait to show it off more in detail.  The pattern and colors are so pretty, this photo really doesn't do it justice.  It sold out pretty quickly but they do have the same pattern but as a two-piece bathing suit that is just as cute!  I got some questions on my raffia bucket bag - it's from Zara and is now on sale!

You have seen me wear this floral maxi skirt last year.  I still love it and find any excuse to wear it.  I thought it would be the perfect bathing suit cover-up so of course, I had to bring it with me. This bathing suit is very sexy so I thought a maxi skirt would be a good way to tone it down a bit. I just have to check and see if they sell waterproof double sided tape so I don't have to worry about any mishaps!

Lastly, this romper that I LOVE is from Zara.  I bought it at random without trying it on and it turned out to fit perfectly.  Don't you love it when that happens?

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading.  I can't wait to share some new things that I bought recently.  Stay tuned :)

Talk soon!

VACATION: WHAT I'M PACKING

Exactly 17 days from now I'll be on my way to Punta Cana!  After what I went through last summer, I am ready for some real time in the sun.  One thing I am definitely looking forward to is the beach!  I avoided it like the plague last year and if you know me, you know I love being by the water.  I keep thinking about everything I want to do.  Maybe I'll create some sort of must-do vacation list of the little things like seeing the sunrise.  Excursions are fun but I love the little moments on vacation that we tend to sometimes overlook.  Today I'm going to be sharing what I'll be taking with me.  I have a few weeks so some things might change but I just can't help myself - it's the planner in me.

1. AE ONE-PIECE CUT-OUT SWIMSUIT | 2. AE ONE-PIECE HIGH NECK SWIMSUIT | 3. STEVE MADDEN SWIZZLE LACE-UP SANDALS | 4. ZARA RAFFIA BUCKET BAG | 5. LEOPARD JERSEY PANTS 6. H&M STRAW HAT | 7. FOREVER 21 FLORAL MIX-N-MATCH PRINT DRESS | 8. FREE PEOPLE VALENCIA TURBAN | 9. ZARA BRAIDED CROSSBODY BAG WITH STUDS | 10. LEATHER SANDALS WITH METHACRYLATE HEEL | 11. MANGO EMBOSSED HOOP EARRINGS | 12. JOE FRESH SHORTS IN DARK VINTAGE

I'm still missing a few things that I have to bring (like my dress for the wedding) but for the most part I'm pretty prepared. Wish me luck fitting all of this in a carry-on because I hate checking in bags!

The Best of the Memorial Day Sales

Happy Memorial Day!  Like I mentioned in my last post, it has been a busy couple of weeks.  For the first time in awhile, I'm actually relaxing in my home with (dare I say) nothing to do.  Nothing too important at least.  So as I sit here binge watching 13 Reasons Why, I'm browsing the web for the best sales and of course sharing them with you!

Happy shopping!

This Weeks Links

Hi guys!  So, it's been about a week.  Did you miss me as much as I missed you?  The past two weeks have been really busy.  The end of the school year is coming to an end and a lot has been going on at work.  I got to enjoy the school dance and attend the senior dinner with this years graduating class.  I think back to where I was a year ago and I realize how incredibly lucky I am to have a job that doesn't feel like work because I love it so much.  This week the entire school will be running (or walking) our own version of a  5K.  How awesome is that?

  • I'm still on a pizza high from Sunday!  I went to Patsy's Pizza in Harlem and it's still hands down in my top five.  The Margherita and the Bianca pies are HEAVEN.
  • I have been the victim of this and its not okay.  The fact that society makes it to be "not a big deal" is beyond me.
  • I love infusing my water with different fruit, especially during the summer time.  Some of these combos are tried and true and others I just can't wait to try!
  • NYC newsstands are diminishing and that kind of makes me sad.
  • This bag is a must-have for vacation!
  •  I won't be surprised to see a streetstyle blogger rocking this...not sure if I could pull it off though!
  • The whole Victoria Beckham collection at Target is now on sale.  I love this orange romper
  • I love this Ivory Barcelona Nights Top so  much...
  • ...and these Espadrille Wedges
  • 25% off + FREE SHIPPING at Joe Fresh.  It ends today so hurry!  I just bought these shorts!
  • Sneakers have always been an obsession of mine but I kind of fell off when I started working in administration.  Now that I work in a more casual environment, it makes more sense to invest in more of them.  That being said, I'm really thinking about taking it wayyyyy back and getting a pair of these.
  • So, I joined a yoga studio.  Not just any yoga, though. Aerial yoga...and I love it.  We'll get more into how incredible I feel now that I've been doing it another day.  The point of me bringing that up is the fact that I now need new workout clothes.  What better way to motivate yourself then cute workout clothes?

I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!

Still Love You Black Maxi Skirt

I've been searching for a simple black maxi skirt for what seems like forever.  I could never find one until recently while browsing through the skirts on Tobi.com.  The only minor issue was the length of the skirt, which is always an issue for me because I'm only 5'2.  I took it to the dry cleaners for a quick hem and now it fits perfect.  I love the simplicity of a black maxi skirt and I can guarantee that this skirt would be in heavy rotation all summer long.

TGIF!  I know I'm not the only one jumping for joy!

Light Blue Wrap Dress

I've been telling myself that I need to branch out of my t-shirt dresses and maxi's and buy more dresses that I can actually wear for...I don't know...a fancy dinner or something.  It's not that I don't love dressing up, it's just the opportunity to do so is so far between.  It almost never makes sense to invest in items that I can't wear on an every day (or at least once a month) basis.

Adriana Light Blue Wrap Dress | Zara Lucite Sandals | Zara Art Deco Fringe Earrings

Adriana Light Blue Wrap Dress | Zara Lucite Sandals | Zara Art Deco Fringe Earrings

Lucky for me, Tobi.com has a great selection of dresses for unbeatable prices.  When I saw this front knot wrap dress I had to have it.  Not only did I have to have it, but I had to have it in the light blue!  The dress in black was tempting and the wine color is beautiful but something in me said go for the blue.  And guys, I was right.  The color and the style of the dress are perfect.  The dress is pretty low-cut but the flowy silhouette creates a nice balance between subtle and sexy.  I didn't want to wear anything that would distract from the neck-line and knot detail so I kept it simple and wore black sandals and these fun fringe earrings.  The only thing I didn't like about the dress is how easily it wrinkled but I'm sure if I'm more cautious with the way I sit, that wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Quick funny story: I was supposed to wear this out with my cousin for our monthly "date night".  We were going to this fancy-ish restaurant in the city and I thought "wow, I finally have the perfect dress." I walked outside and quickly turned right back around.  The 75 degree weather we were haven't that day turned into a whopping 55 degrees after 6:30 pm.  I made her come inside to take these pictures and we ended up missing our reservations.  Whoops! Unfortunately, I didn't get to show off my pretty new dress but it's going to be perfect come June for my tropical trip to the Dominican Republic!

All black + Nude

So, these photos have been sitting in my timeline for God knows how long.  I totally thought I posted them but I guess it works out now that my camera hasn't been working properly and I haven't posted anything outfit related in a week.

Nothing really special about this one - just a little black and nude action going on.  All black with never get old, not for me at least.  I normally would go for black sandals or a colorful pair but for some reason I chose nude and I like it.  Definitely a color combo I will be using again.  Also, how pretty is this Anastasia Beverly Hills lip color?  It'S currently in my spring lipstick rotation so get used to seeing it on!

Happy hump day to you all!

Color Crush: Mustard Yellow

I don't know about you but there is something about the color yellow that I just love.  I tend to constantly gravitate towards this color, especially in the warmer months.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Midi dresses are a summer must and in this bright shade its anything but basic.  This wrap top is your solution to any "blah" outfit moments.  Its a halter top that wraps in the back and you can wear it with anything from pants to skirts and even shorts. Basically, anything.  Maxi dresses are the best thing ever.  The pattern on this one is so pretty and I love the two slits.  I'm sure you know by now that I'm all about hoop earrings and these yellow twisty ones are really fun!  The floral print on this crossbody bag is absolutely beautiful and would look amazing against an all white (or black) outfit.  I love that these draw-string shorts are a good length to cover up the booty.  Is it me or are shorts just too short sometimes? Shoes...of course.  Nothing like a good pop of color on your feet.

So, what do you guys think - could yellow be a color that you see yourself wearing?

What I'm Loving: Cinco De Mayo Edition

Happy Cinco De Mayo!  When I think of Cinco De Mayo, I think of bright colors and lots of fringe. That being said, today I'm showing you some of my favorite festive pieces.

This Weeks Links

Hi, guys!  As usual, I'm sharing my favorite links from this past week, but this one, in particular, is especially exciting.  I got the amazing opportunity to collaborate with the amazing team over at Tobi.com.  Tobi is an online-only women's fashion boutique based in Los Angeles.  If you haven't been on their site, you must go now.  I'm not even kidding.  This is just a sneak peek into the awesomeness that this site has to offer.  I got a couple other items that I'm dying to show you, just wait!

It's All You Need Blush Head Scarf | Basic Black Shirt (old; via Marshalls) | Fashion Union Slinky Embroidered Bomber Jacket | Lips: Revlon Pink Pout

This It's All You Blush Head Scarf is everything you want in a head scarf.  It can be styled and worn in multiple ways.  I've worn it with my hair up in a topknot (as seen above) and down in curls.  The best part is that its self-tie, meaning that you can easily adjust it any way you like.  The bottom part of the headband stretches like a scrunchie which makes it really comfy to wear all day.  I know I'm not the only one who hates when headbands dig into their skin!  I love the pale pink color - so on trend for spring!  It's a little girly for my liking which is why I edged it up with this embroidered floral bomber jacket.  Next, I'll be wearing this as a scarf around my neck or tie it around a messy bun.  Talk about versatility!

Here are a few other headscarves from Tobi that I really want to buy.  And I almost forgot to mention that they offer 50% off for new customers.  Now, that's a deal I can't resist!  Can you?

Classic Trench Coat

"I'd have to say April 25th.  Because its not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket."

Can anyone guess where that quote comes from?  I'll give you a hint: it has to do with a beauty pageant and the person is describing her perfect date.  I know, I quote a lot of movies but sometimes I just can't help it.  Especially when today really is April 25th, it really is not too hot or too cold, and we're talking light jackets.  It was just too good not to use.  This trench isn't new but its back in heavy rotation because its ones word: classic.  It's also light, layers well, and goes with everything.  Enough said.

Make sure you go see how I styled this jacket last year.  It's one of my favorite shoots to this day.  The cherry blossoms look so pretty and I really, really miss those shades! :(  Shop similar options below for the perfect spring-time look!

Hi, guys!  Haaaaaappy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Mine was good.  I woke up really early both days, which is a pretty big deal since weekends are pretty much an excuse for me to sleep later then usual. I'm trying to break out of that habit as well as a few others.  For example, Saturday I woke up at 7 and went for a run - okay maybe not a run, more like a power walk.  But still, its a start.  Waking up early and exercising?  I know, I'm still surprised with myself.

  •  Today I signed up for an aerial yoga class (that crazy stuff Pink does in the air in almost all her performances).  I'm really excited about it.  Exercise, for me, gets real boring real fast so I need something that I can enjoy and have fun with.  I think this form of yoga would be good for me.
  • Yesterday I met up with a friend and her husband to hang for a bit and we went to this cute little Jamaican spot called Miss Lilly's.  They have  two locations but the one we went to was in the East Village (second location is in Soho).  It's such a cute spot!  I really enjoyed the food, they have really good brunch specials, and the music was on point.  For the record, I had the Jamaican Patty Melt.
  •  Another great food mention is this Brooklyn Spot I went to a couple weeks back called Sweet Chick.  That place is def a must try as well.
  •  I haven't been thrifting since last summer so it's about that time.  I think this coming weekend I'm going to hit up L Train Vintage to see what I could find.
  •  I've been freakishly into pink lately, don't ask me way.  It's a major coincidence that I just got a an email from Asos about all things pink.  A sign?

Let me know of any good restaurants or other cool stuff that you think I'd be interested in.  I'm always wanting to try something new!

What I'm Loving: Sunglasses

Sunglasses, like red lipstick, change everything. - Unknown -

one // two // three // four // five // six

They really do, you know, change everything.  For me, sunglasses solve (almost) all of my problems.  No make-up?  Sunglasses.  Allergies?  Sunglasses.  Confidence boost?  Sunglasses.  Oh, and of course, you can use them to block the sun.  It's funny, I did a post on sunglasses a year ago tomorrow.  This definitely was not planned!  BUT I will say, it's an oldie but a goodie so you can definitely check it out if you're a little confused as to what sunglasses go with you face shape.    I have quite the obsession with sunglasses.  I think its safe to say that they are my favorite form of accessory.  I'm really sad that Ditto Endless Eyewear went out of business since that was my go-to place to try new glasses and switch them out whenever I wanted.  I guess I was a little spoiled.  Now I have to go back to slowly rebuilding my shades collection.  I'm really loving the new hexagon shape.  Do you have a favorite?

Floral Shift Dress

I must have flowers, always, always. - Monet -

Spring, is that finally you?  Seriously, though.  I can't tell.  You're up and you're down and in between.  I was just wearing this dress less than a week ago.  Now it's 49 degrees and pouring rain.  Yeah, I know, "April showers brings May flowers", but nowhere in there does it say it has to be freezing.  Anyone else feel my pain?

Lucky for me, I had great weather over spring break so I wanted to spend as much time as possible outside.  I was really excited for this day in particular because I was shooting with blogger, photographer, and artist, Milli Stephania a.k.a. Minx.  We really wanted to take advantage of the day and do something we both have not done in awhile so we decided to go to The Botanical Gardens.  Gardens and floral dresses have Spring written all over it.  Count me in!

I love this time of year because the cherry blossoms are blooming and they are the perfect backdrop for a floral dress!  You might remember seeing it on my Instagram - I wore it to my best friends wedding with taupe peep-toe mules back in February.  I was excited that I was able to wear it again sooner than later.  This time around, I paired it with my new sandals from Zara - how awesome is that heel?

What I love most about this dress is its versatility.  You can dress it up with heels like I did here or dress it down with flat sandals.  The length is good to wear with either or.  The sleeves make it perfect for transitional weather and the openings give the classic shift dress a nice twist.

So far I've worn this dress to a wedding and for a day at the botanical gardens.  Next, I plan on wearing it to work.  Love a dress that can work into every aspect of your life!  Not bad for something that only cost me $40!  This one has since sold out but check out these other equally great options below!

I'm getting back into the swing of things after a nice, week-long spring break!  It just so happened to be my birthday week (as I mentioned before) so I decided to take the week off everything else and just enjoy it.  It was beautiful to be quite honest.  I got a lot done, which is always good.  Now I'm back and ready to show you some new outfit post and other fun stuff I have in store!  For today, let's start off slow with our usual Monday agenda.

What I'm Loving: Festival Style

She had the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, the spirit of a fairy... - K.K.

Happy Thursday!  Its pouring rain but I've barely noticed.  Excuse me but I'm on a bit of a high. Today is my last day in my 20's and I'm - dare I say - muy excited!  I'm so ready to begin this new chapter in my life.  Kind of surprised I'm even saying that!  Is this what it feels like to be a real life actual adult? :)

So it's that time of year again - festival time!  I'm so mad at myself!  I could have definitely made it down to Coachella this year, had I planned it accordingly.  I didn't realize till the last minute that I had spring break landed during that time.  At least for the first weekend.  That would have been an awesome birthday to myself.  Oh well!  How similar is today's guide compared to last year?  That was not planned!  I guess some things just don't change!
