Happy Monday!  It finally feels like fall and I'm loving this weather a little too much.

What I'm Loving: Pointy Toe Boots

I find that most women I know gravitate more towards a round toe or a combination of both - round with a slight point.  I, on the other hand, either go for the combo or a pointed toe.  Something about the latter is incredibly chic...not to mention it makes your legs look 10 X longer. Win/Win.

Rose Gold Velvet Dress

You ever have moments where you feel like nothing is going the way you want it to?  I have had those moments one too many times this past month and when my dress for my friends wedding did not arrive at all, that was just the topping on the cake.  This day was special to me and I wanted to look special for it.  After trying on what felt like a million dresses, I just felt like giving up. I will not torture you with too many details but just know that searching for the dress the night before the wedding was not fun. As I was about to walk to my car, I decided to try one more place: Express.  I walked in, picked two dresses off the rack, and walked straight to the register.  I didn't even try them on, I was that done.  I actually didn't try on the dresses till the next day...

Two hours before the wedding and BAM - I made my choice.  Lucky is all I can say.  This velvet dress is pure magic.  Very 90's Kate Moss, don't you think?  When I picked this off the hanger I didn't think in a million years that it would look this good.  That's right, I said it.  I looked good and most importantly felt good.  I slipped it on and fell in love.  It is simple but packs a punch in this beautiful rose gold velvet. Clingy in all the right places, I felt like a total bombshell.  For the record, the second dress (here in navy, I bought it in red) was just as beautiful but not as flattering.  Rose gold earrings and silver shoes finished off the look.  I loved how the rose gold and silver looked together, the perfect "mixed metal" ensemble.

Now, let us talk about my hair and make-up.  I met Rachell at the wedding I went to in Fort Lauderdale.  We clicked right away once we realized we were both bloggers and shared the same love of fashion and beauty.  I immediately thought of her when it came to my hair and make-up.  She exceeded my expectations and I'm so happy that she came through for me.  Thanks, girl!

Before I go, I'm curious to know how you feel about mixing metals?  What do you think or what would you have done differently?  I would love to hear your ideas on how you would have worn it.  I already have a few ideas on how I can wear it again and again.  Like I said, this dress is pure magic.

For The Love Of Cafe Bustelo

"Oh, I can't stop drinking the coffee.  I stop drinking the coffee, I stop doing the standing and the walking, and the words putting into sentence doing."   It is almost impossible to not quote Gilmore Girls when talking about coffee.  If you don't know this about me already, I LOVE COFFEE.  Not because I'm addicted to the caffeine, but because I love the aroma, the taste, and the warm, fuzzy, feeling it gives me when I take that first sip.  Now, I wouldn't call myself a coffee connoisseur but I am pretty picky when it comes to my coffee.  So in honor of National Coffee Day (which I thought was yesterday...whoops!), I'm sharing with you my absolute favorite cup of coffee.  Cafe Bustelo!

This is a popular coffee brand, especially within the Latin community.  For the people who haven't tried it, I promise it will not disappoint.  I've converted one of my coworkers who now buys it in her own home.  Another coworker of mine tried it for the first time yesterday.  He text me saying " Wow. Cafe BOMBstelo." A little corny but it gets the point across: this stuff is BOMB.  Not only is this coffee just straight up delicious but it is also nice and strong.  If you're exhausted, it gets the job done! It comes in two forms of packaging: vacuum packed or in a tin can and the aroma is just incredible.  I usually make mine using a cloth coffee strainer, also called a Colador.  I also have a small metal stovetop coffee maker that I should use more often but I don't. {shrugs shoulders}. While we're talking coffee, shop cute mugs below!

Forgive me for writing in all caps and using the bold font a little too often during this post.  I'm just THAT passionate about my Cafe Butelo.

What I'm Loving: Zippers

I usually don't do this until Friday but I have a lot of stuff I've been loving lately and I'm running behind on my post.  So Wednesday it is!  Maybe it will make Friday come faster?  What do you think? :)

unnamed.jpg
  1. BDG Striped Contrast Mini Skirt: I love the contrast between the stripes and the cognac zippers.  I would rock this skirt with a nude bodysuit to keep the focus on the skirt.
  2. ASOS Slim Boyfriend Coat with Zip Pocket: Everyone needs a classic nude coat and the zippers on this one give it a modern update.
  3. Trouve Off the Shoulder Blazer: Speaking of classic, here's a twist on the black blazer.  As you know, off the shoulder styles are very on trend and still going strong.
  4. Misguided Faux Suede Zip Leggings: Leggings season is here! Wear this with anything from sweaters to dresses for a little added edge.
  5. Steve Madden Lanna Booties: These booties are both functional and fashionable thanks to the micro studs on the soles.
  6. Topshop Zip Denim Skirt: I have a denim skirt and I might DIY it to look like this one.  What do you think?
  7. Sole Society Mason Travel Satchel: I have a weird obsession with travel satchels.  But how amazing is this one?  I love the color!

Some days less is more and today I'm going to go with less.  I'm sharing some pretty awesome links below so make sure to check them out.

  • My prayers are with the people in Puerto Rico.  All this news is so devastating.  I am still waiting to hear from family affected by this devastation.
  • On a lighter note, tomorrow is National Pancake Day so make sure you treat yourself to a short stack.  You deserve it. ;)
  • And more importantly, Friday (9/29/17) is National Coffee Day.  Now you know I'm celebrating that one.
  • I am so excited to tell you that this lace-up sweater from last year is available in two new colors.  Not going to lie, I just might get it in the mauve color
  • This rib-knit sweater is on major sale.  For $12.99 you can't go wrong - especially for such a fall staple.
  • Obsesssssed with these boots
  • This is a silly little article but I have to say, I've been thinking about breaking up with social media for at least a little while.  It's hard to do that when you have a blog, but it's draining trying to keep up "just because".  I mean, can I just post a picture because I like it when I like it?
  • I'm usually not a fan of vinyl but...oh my goodness.  The lapels, the belt, the over-sized fit...they are everything.  I need this.

I hope your Monday is as beautiful as you are.

Cold Shoulder Linen Top

Hey!  So I'm back with some photos that I meant to share a couple months ago.  I originally wanted to take clearer photos of this top - but before I knew it summer was gone and I really wanted to share these before the season is officially over.  I'm really sad to pack this cold-shoulder linen top away for the season.  When I received it in the mail, I thought it fit me too big, although it was a size small which is my normal size.  Instead of returning it, I decided to make it work for me.  I undid a few buttons at the bottom of my top and tied it at my waist.  So keep in mind, when a top doesn't seem to fit, tweak it and make it work for you!

Little by little I'm trying to transition my summer wardrobe into fall.  It's still hot over here so its a little harder than expected but I have some great summer to fall outfits to share with you soon.  If there is anything you guys would like to see, please let me know!

Mint Satin Pajama Pants

I've been cheating on my favorite denim lately but the love is still real.  It's just sometimes we need some change in our lives.  We already spoke about my undying love for pajama pants. The ones from that last post were more masculine and even a bit moody, I would say.  These here are the prettiest shade of mint green.  The mix of greens, burgundy, and gold create the perfect color palette for transitioning into fall.

I can't wait to style these for fall and even into the winter.  For everyday wear, I think these would look great with a cropped sweater or with a basic long sleeve top and an over-sized denim jacket. But what I am most excited for are the holidays.  Imagine these satin pants with a low-cut bodysuit, and sky-high pumps.  In the meantime...I will be wearing them just like they are shown here because we are still experiencing 80 degree weather!

I've been slackiiiiin'.  My post have been all over the place these last few days.  Trying to get back on track here.  I have some outfit pics I forgot to post from Florida as well as a What I'm Loving post that didn't go through on Friday for some reason.  (Ugh, technology.) I'm debating whether I should combine the two and post them tomorrow - we shall see.  I'm really excited about sharing these really pretty pajama pants.  Maybe if I have time I'll do a late night post because I'm just that excited to share :)  Anyway, Back to regular programming - some of my favorite links this week.

  • I'm still in search for the perfect light-weight foundation.  If you know me, I hate heavy make-up.  I have found a few that I like but none that I love.  So the search continues - I plan on trying this one out next.  Wish me luck!
  • One of my friends wants to be a wedding planner and I can't wait to show her this awesome wedding blog I came across.
  • I try my best to eat healthy and use items that will benefit me outside as well as the inside.  This website talks about nutrition and wellness and is a great website for those looking for a cleaner lifestyle.
  • H&M always kills it in the Fall department.  I'm loving this varsity sweater, this camo sweatshirt and this wool hat.
  • I made homemade vodka sauce the other day.  I just looked up a basic recipe and made the rest up just because I like to make things my own.  I would have to make it again to tell you how exactly I made it (because it was that bangin') but if you want to just Pinterest it, there's a ton of recipes for you to choose from.
  • Speaking of food...I was in the mood for some pizza yesterday but had none of the basic ingredients (cheese, pizza sauce, etc.) but I still managed to pull something together and it came out delicious.

Sometimes I share what I make up on Snapchat and most recently Instastories but have been thinking of sharing what I come up with in the kitchen on the blog.  Would that be something you guys would be interested in?  Let me know!

Happy Monday!

Flower Crop Top

I have a love/hate relationship with crop tops.  I love how they look on everyone else but felt like I could never find one that flattered me - kind of like my boyfriend jeans issue.  Growing up, most crop tops looked like a t-shirt cut in half.  When you're apart of the itty bitty committee, finding a top to look good on you period is difficult at times.  But when the top cuts right below your boobs and you barely have any?  Nah, not happening.

ZARA FLOWER CROP TOP (SOLD OUT; SHOP SIMILAR BELOW) | A&F HIGH-RISE SUPER SKINNY JEANS | ZARA EMBELLISHED SANDALS (OLD; SIMILAR HERE) | ZARA SNAKE HARDWARE BAG (OLD; LAST SEEN HERE)

But this crop top gives me life.  It's a little on the longer side (not too cropped) which is nice because I choose how much skin I want to show.  I have an affinity for long sleeve tops, especially on shorter hemlines, low-cut tops, and now crop tops.  I really do think it creates a great balance.  I wanted to keep it day-time appropriate for some chill time in the city so I wore high-waist jeans and my favorite embellished sandals.

fran3.jpg

So, I hope you're ready to see this top on heavy rotation.  I have these red jeans that would look so good paired with it - or underneath a chunky sweater orrrrr  low-rise joggers with some cute sneakers.  Like I said, heavy rotation.

What's your take on crop tops?

Gold Turtleneck Top + Olive Shorts

Hey, guys!  I'm just here trying to catch up on all my Florida pictures before summer is officially over. {insert sad emoji here} This is a very simple outfit that I wore for the "Welcome Breakfast" the day after we arrived in Fort Lauderdale.  I got up not really wanting to do anything crazy outfit wise - not that I ever do but I usually put thought into what I wear and this outfit took none whatsoever.  Sometimes it's better that way. I just wanted to go outside and enjoy some sun while it lasted.  (I mentioned here that it rained all weekend long.)  Too bad you can't really see my make-up here - I kept it mostly natural except for a pop of aqua mascara on my bottom lashes.  I got so many compliments that I decided to do it again for the wedding!

By mid-August, I try my best to avoid all the summer sales.  They are so tempting but it doesn't really make sense to buy more summer clothes with fall around the corner.  Of course, I got the "50% off" email from Mango and got sucked in.  I don't feel one bit guilty about this purchase though.  This halter top is a great transitional top that will take you from season to season.  It's made of a light knit material and can be worn under a sweater or blazer when the time comes.  Here I paired it with olive shorts and embellished sandals for a little edge.  Too bad you can't really see my make-up here - I kept it mostly natural except for a pop of aqua mascara on my bottom lashes.  I got so many compliments that I decided to do it again for the wedding!

This Weeks Links: Labor Day Sales

Happy Labor Day, everyone!  I'm back in NY and am getting ready to enjoy my last day of vacation.  I'm thinking a ride to Chinatown for a nice, relaxing massage.  But before I go, I wanted to share my some of my favorite Labor Day Sales.

Happy Monday!

Polka Dot Dress

I never thought that I would want a polka dot dress - until I walked into Cream Boutique and that newfound want turned into a definite need.  I thought for sure that this would be one of those dresses that would stay in my closet forever.  It turns out that my weekend in Fort Lauderdale called for an "all white night" and this dress fit the bill.

40's fashion with a twist - this dress is both demure and sexy.  It looks like a two-piece set but nope - it's a dress!  The top ties closed which means its adjustable and the skirt flows perfectly below your knees.  I bought it from the cutest little boutique in Newburgh, NY.  The staff was super friendly and helpful.  One of the owners even gave me clothing recommendations which resulted in me buying not only this dress but a beautiful sky blue romper, too!

xoxoFrancheska Polka Dot Dress 2 .jpg

I've been wanting to plan a trip to Cuba and this would be the first thing I throw into my suitcase.  It perfect to wear while sipping mojito's under palm trees...all I'm missing here is the beach!

Hi guys - happy Monday!  I'm back from my weekend in Fort Lauderdale!  The wedding was absolutely beautiful but the best part for me was meeting new friends and reconnecting with the old ones.  If you're spending four days in a house full of people I could only hope that we all get along so mission accomplished.

I ended up cancelling my flight back to New York to fly to Orlando and spend time with my family instead.  After this weekend, a lot of relaxing is in order.  That being said, I've yelled at my grandmother twice.  She has type 2 diabetes and likes to sneak sweets like she's not going to complain about her sugar later.  This women is going to be the death of me but I love her.

And with that, time for coffee!  Talk soon!

Color Crush: Nude

Who doesn't love nude everything for fall?  Year round, really but mostly fall.  It's like the pumpkin spice of fashion.  Whoops, I hate it when I forget to number these guides!  I hope it's not too hard to follow along.

  1. THE COCOON COAT: this may be very "fashion blogger" of me but a nude/camel wool coat is a major cold-weather staple.
  2. CORD JACKET WITH FLEECE COLLAR : corduroy is one of my favorite fall fabrics.  I would layer this over a jean jacket and a pair it with some black jeans and booties.
  3. BLANK DENIM PATCH JOB JEANS: or instead of black jeans you can go for an all nude look and wear these!
  4. "FLOPPY-BRIM" WOOL FEDORA: I love the studded band on this hat.  This hat would be the perfect topper to everything.
  5. JOGGING PANTS: these are listed as beachwear but I would totally wear these on a lazy Sunday morning.
  6. FINE-KNIT SWEATER: a soft sweater in nude reads cozy and chic.
  7. MESH HIGH NECK TOP: a turtleneck with a fun pattern is great for day or night.
  8. KNITTED DRESS: it would be hard not to wear this to work every single day wear it with booties or with sneakers for something more casual.

This week is already getting off to a good start. The Great American Eclipse is today and I'm really looking forward to it.  All the students and staff will be up on the school field to see it first hand - we got the glasses and everything!  It's a three day week for me since the last day of summer school is Wednesday.  I'm packing some great outfits for my trip to Florida for my friends wedding weekend.  I can't wait to share!

  • It almost seems inappropriate to speak of fall when I'm preparing for the sunshine state but I have to link this suede jacket because it is absolutely beautiful and it makes me look forward to cooler weather - but soon, not yet.
  • The jumpsuit you saw me wear here is now back in stock - also, free shipping today!
  • Old Navy; All jeans and shirts up to 50% off.
  • H&M: Up to 50% off Fall styles
  • I have been taking advantage of the Asos final clearance which is up to 70% off now.  I just got a pair of converse for 50% off!
  •  Burt's Bee is coming up with a make-up line
  • Time for a new pair of ballerina flats.  Instead of black I think I'm going to go with this mushroom color.
  • Hmm...new show alert
  • These lists are coming in handy now that I have cut off cable.  It just isn't worth it anymore with Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc. around.

Happy Monday!

What I'm Loving: Blazers

We are reaching the end of August - can you believe it?  If you try shopping for anything summer related in stores you will mostly be out of luck.  All the Fall merchandise has starting rolling in which now is a good reason to start shopping for transitional pieces.  Blazers make fall outfit planning so much easier.  They have quickly become more of a closet staple over the years.  With so many options to choose from, you will be sure to find something that suits you.  Bright, neutral, and tweed - here are six of my favorites.

  1. FREE PEOPLE STRUCTURED WASHED BLAZER: Love the color, distressed trim, and the exposed bronze buttons.  This military style blazer is definitely worth the investment.
  2. SINGLE BREASTED PINSTRIPE BLAZER: Just a classic single-breasted pinstripe blazer to have in your closet.  This would look great over jeans or a skirt.
  3. PRINCE OF WALES BLAZER: Love, love, love this menswear inspired blazer.  I would wear this over classic blue skinny jeans and OTK boots.
  4. TAILORED DOUBLE BREASTED MUSTARD BLAZER: Another great color for fall and I love the longer fit.
  5. MICHEL KNIT BLAZER : I seem to be gravitating more towards navy instead of black for fall.  Kind of weird since I'm always in black but I guess it is a good thing!
  6. BOUCLE BOYFRIEND BLAZER: And of course, a lighter neutral in a boyfriend fit.  I love that the sleeves are easy to roll up.

What are some of your favorite transitional pieces for fall?

National Thrift Shop Day

National Thrift Shop Day is today and I'm really sad I won't be able to shop in honor of it.  Not that I need an excuse to shop but if I did, this would be a really good one.

I'm pretty sure most of you know what a thrift shop is-  but just in case - it's basically a type of resale shop that sells used goods. If you're really lucky, you end up with something brand new.  Usually thrift shops build their inventory off of donations (like Goodwill) but there are some (like Beacon's Closet) that buy used clothing, shoes, or accessories.  You rarely ever get back what you paid for an item but hey, something is something. I don't go "thrifting" as much as I would like to but when I do, I always find something worth buying. Today I'm sharing with you a couple of of my favorites as well as others I intend on visiting soon.

  • BEACON'S CLOSET: This one is possibly one of my favorites.  I say that because I've been to two different locations multiple times and always find something.  They conveniently have multiple locations (three in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan).  I love who they are and what they stand for.  The founder, Carrie Peterson, has a great come-up story.  Best part, you can even shop online.
  • BUFFALO EXCHANGE: Located in the East Village, this buy-sell-trade clothing shop is definitely worth a shot - especially if you're already in the area.  I've gone and found some great designer stuff for almost nothing.  I love that they aren't too picky with what you sell to them, either.  They are more then happy to except things from Forever 21, H&M, etc. with no problem.
  • L TRAIN VINTAGE: I have never been to this one but apparently they have the best 80's/90's vintage around.  Nothing designer - think classic Levi's for cheap.
  • RePOP: This is another one that I've been meaning to visit but it has nothing to do with clothing!  RePop sells vintage furniture and other home goods. I'm especially interested in the lighting and vintage signs that I heard they had.  All items are for sale or rental which is kind of cool.

Are you a big thrifter?  If so, what are some of you favorite thrift shops?

Good morning!  I hope this morning you wake up eager to start this Monday off great.  Grab your coffee, go for a run, or simply put on some lipstick (hey, works for me)!  Do what ever you have to do to make sure that your Monday and your week gets off at a good start.

And on that note, happy Monday!

What I'm Loving: Fall Essentials

I know it seems a little too soon to be talking about fall fashion but the reality is it's coming sooner than later.  As much as fall is my favorite season, I'm still not ready to let go of summer. But with the drop in temperatures lately, you can't help but think ahead.  For sure my list from here will continue to grow but as of now, this is what I've been wanting.

  1. GREEN LEATHER JACKET: This is an obvious fall staple and to say that I am obsessed with this leather jacket is an understatement.  I already have one in black but I think its time to upgrade to t his dark green number.
  2. RED LEATHER JACKET: I love it so much, I want it in red, too.  I usually tend to stick to neutrals (black, brown, cognac, etc.) but for some reason, these two colors are really catching my eye.
  3. DENIM JACKET: I already have one but its a few years old and I could use another one in a more oversized fit.  This one from Mango doesn't seem to look like it will swallow me up (a common problem I have with oversized items).
  4. SUNGLASSES: God knows I have enough but an all black pair in a true cat-eye shape is an everyday accessory I can't live without.  It'll go with everything and kind of seem mysterious, don't you think?  These with the green leather jacket...yes!
  5. NAVY BOOTIES: You can never have too many booties come fall!  I have an old pair of navy lace-up booties but I'm not sure they will last another season after this.  These would be a great replacement!
  6. BLUE JEANS: Because I live in them come fall!  Jeans are my favorite article of clothing for so many reasons.  I need a pair of true blue classic jeans that go with everything.  I literally just created an entire outfit.
  7. OVERSIZED CARDIGAN: I love a good oversized cardigan come fall.  The bell sleeves on this one gives it a unique twist.

What are some of your call essentials?
